J. Walter Thompson: Unlocking creativity with Microsoft Teams

>>I understand that what we do for a living selling things, but marketing needs to change
a little bit and become a utility in people’s lives and needs to fill
further peoples lives. But I’ve hired
architects because of how they think from
a linear perspective, we’ve hired cultural
ethnographers, then we have people that
are very business focused that bring something to the table that others here might not.>>Creative teams are
everyone we work with who’s bringing a different
perspective to the table to find new outcomes. We are able to gather
points of view from all over the world,
from different offices, different clients to come
together very quickly around a problem in a
discussion that you can have with teams in
multiple different places, you can collaborate with them
more effectively that way. When we were briefed on
a print ad at one point, we came back and
actually invented amphibious prosthetic leg for a veteran so he could
find his family again, that’s what collaboration can do.>>The development of the fin
with north pole took a lot because we created
a new capability, a new product which
is pretty amazing. There were times where JWT
was on the line as well as aerospace engineers and
the clients at noble health, and having everyone being able to feel present at the same time was critical to the success.>>Being able to change
people’s lives with things like the fin makes
everything worth it, because we’re actually
filling a need or somebody that doesn’t have
access to certain things, and we were able to create it, thats kind of
highlighted my life.>>The Microsoft platforms
are actually incredibly, I’d say critical to
the success of my team.>>Teams helps us pull our small parts of
our organization together to collaborate and ideate and work
efficiently as possible.>>I use Microsoft
Teams every day, really nice feature on
the platform as you can see when someone is
editing a document, so you know that
they’re contributing.>>The platforms really offer the opportunity to be able to not only always be available but also to be present which
is really important, particularly because
I’m a working mom.>>Whether it’s using Microsoft Teams or
using the Surface Hubs, we really have employees
who can stay engaged. When we have employees who
go on flexible work leave, they find ways to still
stay connected and still stay abreast of what’s
going on in real time.>>We have kind of a
general channel on Teams actually just for fun little things that
we like to share. There’re events coming up, we want to add in a little emoji
or gets back and forth to keep things
entertaining as far as off business all the time.>>The ability for
Microsoft Teams to pull in not just the Office
365 suite as a whole, but also the other
applications or components or business users
absolutely fantastic. For example, you’ll have
Adobe Creative Cloud, you would have Jira, you’ll double the
planning tools as well, so all of those things are now visible for everyone within
the Teams structure.>>Technology is making collaboration
possible in new ways that lead us to all new kinds of results
that you don’t expect, and that’s what’s
really exciting.
