Fashion designer Ezoe Robinson inspired by Windrush generation – Central Saint Martins Summer Shows
My name is Ezoe Robinson I’m from BA
Womenswear at Central Saint Martins and this is my graduate collection, it
was inspired by The Windrush in the 1950s when Jamaicans first immigrated to
the UK and I really was drawn to the way they decorated their front rooms and
their homes and I really loved like the carpets and the clashing wallpaper and
yeah and I started to embroider and create samples drawing from that but
also drawing from the outerwear that they would have worn during that time as
well I wanted something that felt really welcoming and playful so yeah. I started
to machine embroider and hand embroider into mohair and I also started to take
some of the shapes and create silhouettes from it as well for trousers.
Yes I really love to work with color I like anything that’s vibrant or textured
so yeah I think I’m really happy with the way it came out and yeah I think
that’s all I really have to say I think.
