A Self-Taught Fashion Designer Gets a Show || STEVE HARVEY
– All right y’all, before
we go I wanna make good on a promise that I made to a young lady named Tanisha Swang,
who appeared on the show with her mom and brother all wearing matchin’ family outfits. Something they been doin’ for decades. Anyway, I liked them so much
that I had ’em back on the show to talk about this really
crazy family tradition. That’s when I found out that Tanisha has been hand makin’ all of
these outfits from scratch for the last 10 years. And what was even more impressive is that she’s completely self-taught in the art of sewing and dress making. So I gave her a challenge ’cause she had told me
she always wanted to go to design school and all of
this, so I gave her a challenge. Take a look. I’m gonna have you come out and just have four
pictures of your outfits. I’m gonna put ’em on TV and your website. (audience clapping)
– Amazing. – Thank you Steve. – I’m gonna do that. You got to go home and go to work. You wanna put four fly outfits on TV. Don’t come out here with no
little church maid stuff. (audience laughing) – Okay. – Nah, you got to come
out here with the funk now ’cause this could be your shot. You don’t never know.
(audience clapping) all right? So that’s what we gonna do. (audience clapping) Well, all y’all ready
to see what she’s done? (audience cheering and clapping) All right, come on out ladies. (upbeat music)
(audience cheering) All right now, Tanisha you
created some nice pieces. Was this challenge
tougher than you thought? – It was way tougher
than I thought, Steve. Anything that could of went wrong instant went wrong this week basically. And I had like two weeks,
it was the toughest thing that I think I’ve ever
did in my life, I think. – Well, but you did it thought. Now, you’ve released
your first collection, you on national TV. (audience cheering and clapping) – Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you. – So what’s next for you? – To keep on doin’ my art, designing and creating collections. I love doing this and
I wanna keep doing it. (audience clapping)
– Right. Well, I think you did a nice job. Congratulations. Audience, she did a good job? (audience cheering and clapping) – Thank you, thank you. – So, if you would like to
see more of Tanisha’s designs, head over to her website Sewni, that’s S-E-W-N-I 9119.com. Hey folks, that’s it for our show today. You wanna see some
behind the scenes moments from today’s show, follow the conversation on Facebook at Steve TV Show. Thank y’all for watchin’ everybody. (audience cheering and clapping) ♪ Everyday is a good day ♪ ♪ Everyday ♪ ♪ Everyday ♪

Great designs… keep it up!
If this was Dr Phil he would tell her to give up on her dreams cuz she isn’t trained
wtf is a self-taught fashion designer?
Is this the Mr. Brown collection ?? 😂 I’m sorry, but this is not it 👎🏽
Great job 👏🏽
Hi there every one, my wife is trying to start this fashion designing career as well, if anyone has any insight or suggestion as to how to bring her designs to life, please be so kind as to reply in a comment or send me a message please, I thank anyone & every one reading this comment!
is this the final episode of the show or something?:C
This ain't it boo. No hate but no real man will let their woman out house in that. smh. I support alot of black companies but thats a No for me Dog *Randy Jackson voice.
if only i had that opportunity….. maybe one day.
If you actually go to her site she has some reaaalllyyy great pieces. The downside is that it's a little expensive. I saw a $1000 piece and I almost fainted lol.
Why is everyone so judgmental haven’t you all been taught that if you have nothing nice or positive to say about anything don’t say anything at all?
A black woman wearing a Caucasian wig 🤦🏾♂️
As a beginner seamstress, I felt that she should’ve picked better fabric/coordinating colors & patterns that would’ve looked great on each model’s body. (The romper was cute)She did mention she ran into a few problems 🤷🏾♀️ So, I give her props for being brave and showcasing her work on national tv. You never know who’s watching. You have to start somewhere and maybe this is the start that she needs to create a beautiful legacy for her family. ❤️
She did a good job, cause sewing isn't easy. She definitely inherited her Mama's taste with the pattern. I would have picked a little different models to save some cloth. Sorry, I couldn't keep it for myself but clothes do look better on "human hangers". I am also big, no body shaming…just for the reason of presenting cuts. Sorry sorry just having an unproductive day. She definetely should keep up with the sewing, I could not have self taught me this. She has skills!!!!
Great work 👏👏👏👏
Ayeee that white girl is hot 🔥
RIGHT ON!!!!! Time well spent!!!!!
Her website is bussing
Yesssss
the models are fat !
do NOT glorify unhealthy body types, steve.
I can't get with those outfits maybe because I'm a older person
Material n print of it not cutting it n to be honest the outfits look old fashion n I know the audience dnt think they look good n so does Steve. She need to go do a course
I hope she goes far with this 😊✨
That is completely awful. They look a hot hot mess
